About

My name is Audrey Oscarson. I’m freelancer who specializes in news writing, AP Style editing, and content creation. I graduated in 2023 from Seattle Pacific University with Bachelor’s in Journalism and a minor in Honors Liberal Arts. During my time at SPU, I was very involved with the Falcon, SPU’s independent student newspaper. You can read my work here.

I have freelanced with Seattle Gay News since June 2024, and have covered many stories that I care deeply about. As a Queer person, it is important to me that our stories be told and I aim to continue sharing those stories. You can read my work for SGN here.

News writing is something that I have been passionate about for a long time. I received my bachelors in journalism at Seattle Pacific University, where I wrote for the Falcon and honed my skills as a writer and communicator. During my second year, I got the job of news editor, where I lead a small team and helped them develop their skills as journalists. Being able to tell people’s stories and amplify their voices is something that I feel very drawn to, and I like knowing that people benefit from my writing. I’ve worked on a variety of projects, but my favorites are always ones that align with my values. I am excited to see what kinds of projects I will work on in the future. If you would like to work with me, send me an email at audreymoscarson@gmail.com and let’s chat about what I can do for you!

I grew up in Washington, which I believe is largely to blame for my love of hiking and the outdoors. I like to spend as much time as possible outside and exploring, enjoying everything from hiking to swimming to camping. You can follow my adventures on my Youtube channel here.
